Walking into the office this morning, I thought it was going to be an average day like any other day. Boy was I wrong. Today has turned into one of the most freakin’ awesome days of the technology century.

For months now, we have painstakingly signed in and out of various clients’ Instagram accounts in order to do our jobs effectively, because Instagram has not had the function of switching between accounts like Facebook and Twitter allow. It has been time-consuming and somewhat a ‘pain-in-the-butt’ experience, but today all of that changed and we’re pretty sure the heaven’s did a little sing song – we know we sure did a bit of the funky chicken.

So what does switching between accounts mean?

It simply means that if you have more than one Instagram account, for instance, one personal account, one for your business and one for your alter ego, you can have all three accounts connected. You can then switch easily by the click of one button from your ‘Joe Soap’ account to your business account, without having to log out of one and log in to the other. Easy-peasy!

So how do I do this?

Go to your settings in Instagram, scroll down to the bottom and click on ‘Add Account’ – this will allow you to add your extra accounts one at a time to your first profile – then you can go on and switch it up whenever you like. It’s a bit sucky that there is only the option of adding five accounts at the moment, but I’m sure that will change over time as well. For now, we are taking what we can get and rejoicing that our lives just got that much more streamlined – something we so love in the marketing industry.
